How to safeguard a sustainable HIV response in times of crisis?

Due to budget constraints at the United Nations, the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights will no longer deliver its report on human rights in a sustainable HIV response.

This gap in the agenda of the ongoing 60th session of the UN Human Rights Council underscores the urgent need for this side event: to maintain global attention, elevate community voices, and ensure that human rights remain at the heart of HIV policy discussions at the Human Rights Council and beyond.

This side event will bring together leading HIV and human rights experts to discuss sustaining political momentum for a rights-based HIV response. It follows on from an earlier HRC session on 5 March 2025, which you can re-watch here.
