Summary:
Ace Week (formerly known as Asexual Awareness Week) is celebrated every October every year, and ILGA World has joined all the amazing asexual people, in all their diversity within the spectrum, breaking barriers and living their truth!
From building community to raising awareness, asexual people everywhere are paving the way for a more accepting and better world for everyone, in our LGBTI communities and beyond.
As this year’s Ace Week has just come to an end, we asked our member organisations working with and for asexual folks worldwide to share their messages of hope and self-love with our global community. Here is what they told us.
Pink Therapy: Support, understanding, and pride are waiting for you
“You are whole, valid, and worthy —just as you are.
Self-love starts with embracing your truth unapologetically. You’re not alone. Connect with others through online asexual communities, forums, and local LGBTQ+ spaces.
Support, understanding, and pride are waiting for you. You deserve love—especially from yourself. 💜” – Pink Therapy
Asian Asexual Network: Amplify asexual and aromantic voices
“We amplify asexual and aromantic voices through literature, storytelling, and unreported news. Because asexuality matters!
Even within the queer spectrum, asexuality often remains unseen — and we’re here to change that.
Let’s celebrate our identities, speak our truths, and connect with like-minded souls in a hypersexual world.” – anoaqa.org, The Asian Network of Aspec Queer Activists.
Asexuales México: The way you feel, connect, and relate to others is valid
“You’re not failing at being human. The way you feel, connect, and relate to others is valid and deserves respect.
You don’t need to justify being ace with biology or statistics—your orientation is reason enough. And if you choose to live it fully, let it be on your own terms.” – Asexuales México
