SOGIESC listserv
The SOGIESC listserv (also referred to here as “the list”) provides a space for global advocacy focusing on discussions and strategies related to sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, and sex characteristics (SOGIESC) issues. It seeks to situate these discussions within a broader human rights framework.
This mailing group (sometimes called a listserv) is managed by ILGA World, and it is not moderated. The title of the listserv is “SOGIESC”, to encompass the list’s focus on advocacy, discussions and strategies related to the human rights of people of diverse sexual orientations, gender identities and expressions, and sex characteristics. The mailing group is a private group within Google Groups.
The list continues the work done over the years by ARC International, which maintained the SOGI listserv. To see the collection of prior postings to the list, visit the sogi-list archives (soon to be made available, with access restricted to current list members).
Given the sensitive nature of the discussions held in this space, the SOGIESC listserv is both a closed and hidden list. It is closed, as no one can self-subscribe to it: all list members must be referred/recommended by a current list member and manually approved by ILGA World. It is also a hidden list: non-members are not able to post to the list or access list postings. The list of members is available only to the list administrator.

Using the SOGIESC listserv
To post a message to all the list members, send an email to list(at)sogiesc.ilga.org. Only members can send and receive emails.
We encourage list members to bring an intersectional approach to their participation in the list, taking into account gender, linguistic accessibility, linkages with other social justice movements, the representation of the most marginalised within communities of people with diverse SOGIESC, and meaningful engagement across all regions of the world. We count on subscribers to abide by the list’s policy and maintain it a safe space for everyone.
